Ein führendes Unternehmen in der Düsentechnik mit über 45.000 Produktvarianten für unterschiedlichste Branchen, Prozesse und Anwendungen stand vor der Herausforderung einer gewachsenen IT- und Systemstruktur. Diese Struktur resultierte aus schnellem Unternehmenswachstum und raschem Fortschritt in der Informationstechnologie. GADV wurde beauftragt, ein zukunftsfähiges Konzept für eine zentrale und einheitliche Datenbasis zu entwickeln und umzusetzen, um verschiedene Programme, Prüfstände und dezentrale Datenbanken zu modernisieren.

Lösung

GADV developed a comprehensive measurement database solution with the following features:

  • Centralized database: Implementation of a desktop application for Windows operating systems, with all users accessing the database via a central Microsoft SQL server.
  • Three-tier architecture: The application spans clients, IIS (Microsoft Internet Information Services), and RDBMS (database). The clients connect to the measurement database via a service hosted in IIS.
  • Integrated test benches: Test benches, usually implemented with LabVIEW, use the same interface to the IIS as the desktop application to read out test specifications and return measurement results.
  • Interface integration: Inspection orders are transferred from the PSP (Autodesk Productstream) to the measurement database via an interface table. The PSP database provides all relevant information about the inspection order and product, including master data such as product names and item numbers, thus avoiding duplicate data maintenance.
  • Visualization of measurement results: Measurement results can be used without restrictions by field staff and branch offices via an Internet application.
  • Smooth integration: The jointly developed architecture enabled the new system to be seamlessly integrated into the company’s overall IT.
